Communicating change
Some highlights: In 2003 Lesley won the British Association of Communicators in Business Award for communicating change for the £220m management buyout for Dignity Funerals. She also managed the communications for their subsequent flotation. She led the communications around the merger of two NHS Trusts when she headed the winning NHS Communications Department of the Year. She also has experience of communicating significant organisational restructuring.
Issues and crisis management
Lesley specialises in handling crises and sensitive issues and in making sure a consistent message is delivered to often very diverse audiences. She has also worked with complex issues to gain positive coverage in the national and specialist media. She has trained hundreds of people in how to deal with and give interviews to the media.
Stakeholder relations and engagement
She has significant expertise in engaging a wide range of stakeholders such as community groups and national and local government. Some highlights: events at the House of Commons, party conferences and ensuring representation on parliamentary committees for special interest groups; managing communications with local and regional groups and the media for a new-build crematorium, and consulting local residents and community groups on changes to healthcare provision.
Internal communications
Developing effective, trusted internal communications channels and staff engagement programmes. She has experience in communicating to very diverse internal audiences, across multiple sites.
